Should You Weigh Yourself Every Day?

Many people ponder about the idea of weighing themselves every day. If you're leaning towards changing the amount of times you check the scale, then consider this weight loss tip. Recent research suggests that people who are trying to lose weight or keep weight from coming back should weight themselves every day.

According to the NWCR (National Weight Control Registry) seventy-five percent of dieters who have lost weight and kept it off weigh themselves every week. The NWCR keeps records of over 5000 dieters who have lost weight and kept it off over long periods of time.

Another study, according to Prevention Magazine, revealed that people who weigh themselves every day are twice as likely to lose weight compared with people who weigh themselves daily. This is good news for dieters who want to see the number on the scale go down a little quicker.

Checking your weight every day will probably help keep you mindful of the scale, so you're more likely to watch what you eat during the day. If you feel skeptical about weighing in each and every day, just try it for a few weeks. If you feel it helps keep your diet on track, then you may want to continue checking in with the scale each day. If it doesn't help, then go back to what was working for you.

If you're going to weigh yourself every day, keep in mind that it's important to do this each day at the same time, and it's important to position the scale in the same place on the floor. It's also important to wear the same clothes or undress completely each time before getting on the scale.
